Chipmetrics 2025: A Year of Momentum, Discovery, and Record Growth

As 2025 comes to a close, one thing is clear at Chipmetrics: this was a year of meaningful progress – scientifically, commercially, and organizationally. From record sales and major revenue milestones to new discoveries and geographic expansion, the past twelve months have laid strong foundations for an even more ambitious 2026.

To capture the year from different perspectives inside the company, we asked team members to reflect on what stood out most in 2025 and what they are looking forward to next. Several common themes quickly emerged.

Deepening the Science, Broadening the View

On the technical and scientific side, curiosity and progress went hand in hand. For some, 2025 marked a shift toward more advanced and forward-looking work.

By the end of 2025, our thin film analytics have progressed enormously: Chipmetrics has become the world’s leading technology provider for fast conformality analysis of thin films. That belief is grounded not in slogans, but in steady, year-over-year technical advances.

A Company That Is Growing Up

Beyond the lab, 2025 was also a year of reflection and definition. For a growing company, learning how to define the future while growing organically proved to be one of the most valuable – and challenging – lessons of the year.

Day-to-day work changed noticeably as well. Artificial intelligence became a truly game-changing tool across roles. There is a shared sense that learning to work effectively with AI is no longer optional – it is as fundamental as understanding the internet became decades ago.

Organizationally, the Chipmetrics team evolved. The arrival of COO Stefan Polzin and Business & Legal Controller Veera Naumanen in spring 2025 brought new ideas, structure, and momentum. Their impact went beyond operations: by taking over many business and financial responsibilities, they freed up time and focus for sales, strategy, and international growth.

Numbers That Tell the Story

If 2025 had to be summarized in a single metric, the answer would be straightforward: sales growth.

The company reached record sales. This achievement was more than a financial benchmark – it was a signal that years of technical development and market focus are translating into tangible commercial success.

Looking to 2026: Bigger Leaps, New Markets

With strong momentum behind it, Chipmetrics is entering 2026 with ambition and optimism.

There is excitement around the idea that a new product or offering could stimulate the market more powerfully than anything before – unlocking new demand and creating opportunities both with new customers and within the existing customer base. Finding fresh use cases with current partners could prove just as impactful as expanding into entirely new accounts.

Geographically, East Asia stands out as a major focus. Following the relocation of undersigned to Tokyo in late 2025, efforts are underway to build Chipmetrics’ presence as a local player in Japan and South Korea, engaging more deeply with ALD communities and semiconductor customers in the region. For a Finnish and European company, this represents both a challenge and a major opportunity – and one that the team is eager to pursue.

On the strategic front, there is also hope that Chipmetrics will surprise itself in 2026 by finalizing its next fundraising round fast and smooth, while simultaneously making meaningful progress toward semiconductor fab customers.

Carrying the Momentum Forward

If 2025 was about proof – proof of technology, proof of demand, proof of team – then 2026 is shaping up to be about scale and impact. With record revenues, a strengthened organization, growing international presence, and a clear sense of direction, Chipmetrics enters the new year ready for its next major leap forward.

Thank you for being part of our journey in 2025 – see you in 2026!

Signed,
CEO Mikko Utriainen and the entire Chipmetrics Team.
